Daughter have been releasing some great covers lately, Daft Punk’s Get Lucky and a mash up of Bon Iver’s Perth and Hot Chip’s Ready for the floor. I think both songs work surprisingly well and still have the Daughter ‘sound’.
Daughter in-store performance Rough Trade 19th March 2013
Managed to get a wristband for the Daughter in-store last night at Rough Trade. It’s such a great venue to see bands as it’s quite intimate and you get to meet the artists if you are lucky! Which I was, and managed to get my vinyl signed by the band.
Live they were amazing, the vocals are so beautiful and fragile. Live though the songs are slightly more punchy than on the album and the sounds coming out of the guitars had a great retro indie sound and sounded very 80’s 4AD.
